40k Space Marine Chaplain

I think this was the first character model I bought on my return to gaming in the early 2000's. I was a dark angel player and liked the idea of a force led by a dark and brooding interrogator chaplain so i picked up a metal Asmodai model, cos in terms of looks he fit the bill perfectly. Over the years he's a had a number of paint jobs and as you can see some minor conversion work too, the wings are metal ones from an old Empire Griffon that count as a jump pack.  I now feel the urge to model some assault Marines with wings!

I decided to base him on a transparent base as an experiment,  simply to see how it messed with my suspension of disbelief when gaming, not sure it works to be honest!

Gripping Beast Arabs

My gaming buddies and I had this grand idea to do some crusades skirmish gaming and as in a massive cheapskate I chose Arabs because I could grab one if the incredibly good value Gripping Beast plastic boxsets. The set lets you build swordsmen,  spearman or archers and with 40 torsos in the set you get plenty of options. The sculpts are very similar to their other sets (Saxons and Vikings!) but as generic rank and file troops they're fine.
I haven't got much gaming in these past twelve months so i haven't had chance to get these on the table, pressures of everyday life and all that.
I'll probably slowly build up a saga force now and grab myself a few command models to give it some personality.
